The holiday season is approaching quickly upon us, where everyone will shift their focus to shopping for gifts, prepping for holiday dinners and arranging travel plans to see family and friends. During the holiday season, things can get so busy that it can become easy to drop the ball on daily tasks, such as house work or house improvement. Here are a few easy ways to keep up key improvements on your house throughout the holiday season:

  • De-clutter. Start with one room at a time and try your best to de-clutter as much as possible. This is a great task to work on before you get the holiday decorations up! As you are de-cluttering, make separate piles for what you are looking to sell, donate or just throw away. You will feel a huge weight off your shoulder once your de-cluttering is complete!
  • Deep clean your house. Once you have said goodbye to all of the clutter, get your steam cleaner and vacuum ready! Deep cleaning the house is a great way to get rid of any dirt, dust or stains that are present on your floorings or carpets. While you are at it, run a self-cleaning cycle on your stove and give some love to the rest of your appliances, as well.
  • Ensure everything is in working order. Now that your house is in tip-top shape, it is time to do a wellness check on all of your appliances, your heating system, etc. If you have a chimney and are looking to utilize that for your parties, make sure you set up time to sweep it out and prep it for your first fire. Especially if you are looking to host any holiday parties or dinners, you want to ensure that everything is working properly.
  • Time to decorate! You did it! Your house is looking de-cluttered, clean and ready to be dressed up in festive holiday décor. Happy decorating!
