Kate was born and raised in Westfield, New Jersey but has found her home in the East Bay Area of Rhode Island with her growing family. Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Rutgers University, a Masters of Education in Social Studies from Rutgers Graduate School of Education and a Juris Doctorate from New England Law Boston, Kate has been primed to have success in a client-led industry. She is also an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and stays current on all residential and commercial real estate transaction issues as well as Massachusetts construction law and litigation. Prior to joining the Mello Group, Kate worked in criminal appellate law, family law, debt collection and social security denials. Having stopped working for some time to have her son Pete, and not feeling fully satisfied with any of those legal areas, she has decided to bring her skills and talent to the real estate field. Balancing her love of work and love of family she has found a new home on the Mello Team. Kate is excited to utilize her educational and professional background and experience to expand into real estate and new-home development. Both her mother and grandfather focused their respective legal practices around land use and real estate transactions sparking Kate to want to expand her professional experience in the same areas. The Mello Group has afforded Kate the opportunity to serve as both an associate broker and legal administrator at their growing firm. She combines her law degree with previous work and education experience to be an effective communicator, knowledgeable administrator and dedicated team member at the Mello Group. Kate has always been in the service of others and hopes that her new venture into Real Estate results in meaningful relationships and successful transactions.
